VFD Systems & Integration in the UAE

Confido provides VFD engineering and integration for HVAC, industrial and infrastructure motor-control applications across the UAE.

Our scope can include drive selection support, control-interface engineering, PLC/BMS integration, panel integration, commissioning, troubleshooting and retrofit.

VFD engineering

Drive control developed around the motor and application.

VFD engineering begins with the motor, driven load, operating modes and required interfaces. Drive selection support and control coordination remain project-specific; performance or energy outcomes are not assumed.

  1. 01

    Application review

Motor, load, operating modes and site requirements are reviewed to define the required drive and control functions.

  2. 02

    Control requirements

Local and remote operation, start and stop commands, speed references, status, faults and interlocks are coordinated with the wider control intent.

  3. 03

    Interface coordination

Protection, hardwired signals, communications and panel interfaces are defined against the selected VFD and connected systems.

  4. 04

    Commissioning preparation

Parameters, control sequences, interface points and verification requirements are prepared for site integration and commissioning.

HVAC VFD applications

Motor control coordinated with HVAC operating sequences.

VFDs can be integrated with pumps, fans, air-handling equipment, cooling towers, ventilation and chilled-water systems where supported by the selected equipment and control architecture.

BMS & Building Automation
  • Pumps
  • Fans
  • AHUs
  • FAHUs
  • Cooling towers
  • Ventilation systems
  • Chilled-water systems

Industrial VFD applications

Drive operation integrated with PLC and process control.

Industrial applications can connect motor-driven equipment, utilities and compatible package systems with PLC-controlled sequences. Commands, references, status, faults and interlocks are coordinated within the defined process scope.

PLC & SCADA integration
  • Motors
  • Process equipment
  • Pumps and fans
  • Utility systems
  • Package equipment
  • PLC-controlled equipment

Control & communications integration

Interfaces selected for the VFD and project requirements.

Control may use supported hardwired signals or communications for start and stop, speed reference, status, faults and local or remote selection. Modbus, BACnet or another manufacturer-supported interface may be used where the selected VFD and system architecture permit.

  • Digital and analog control
  • Start / stop
  • Speed reference
  • Status and faults
  • Local / remote selection
  • Modbus where supported
  • BACnet where supported
  • Other manufacturer-supported interfaces

VFD control panels

Panel interfaces arranged around control and site requirements.

VFD panel integration can include control devices, indication, terminals, supported communications, and isolator or bypass arrangements where applicable. Scope is defined by the application and does not imply that every panel is manufactured in-house.

  • Panel integration
  • Local isolators where applicable
  • Bypass arrangements where applicable
  • Control devices
  • Status indication
  • Interface terminals
  • Communication gateways where required

Commissioning

Verification from parameter set to system operation.

Commissioning can verify relevant parameters, control direction, commands, references, feedback, interlocks and communications. The applicable checks depend on project responsibilities, equipment readiness and the supported interfaces.

  • Parameter review
  • Control-direction checks
  • Start / stop verification
  • Speed-reference verification
  • Feedback and status checks
  • Interlock verification
  • Communication checks
  • Site integration

Retrofit & replacement

Replacement planned from the existing drive and interfaces.

Retrofit work begins with the existing drive, motor, panel, controls and communications. Replacement may require interface changes, panel modifications, updated parameters or recommissioning; direct replacement or parameter migration is not assumed.

  • Existing drive assessment
  • Replacement planning
  • Control-interface review
  • Panel and interface modification
  • Parameter migration where appropriate
  • Communication updates
  • Recommissioning

Troubleshooting & lifecycle support

Diagnostics grounded in the installed drive environment.

Troubleshooting can review accessible drive faults, signals, interlocks, configuration and supported communications. Replacement and upgrade planning remains subject to equipment condition, compatibility and available records.

Drive faults

Accessible drive status, fault information and operating conditions are reviewed within the agreed equipment scope.

Signals & interlocks

Control signals, permissives, interlocks, references and feedback are checked against the intended sequence.

Communications

Supported network settings, interface data and PLC or BMS communications are reviewed when diagnosing integration faults.

Configuration & planning

Available parameters and configuration records can support troubleshooting, replacement assessment and upgrade planning.
